October 24th, 2005

On Wednesday, October 19, 2005, I spent a day on Kauai with Kauai Representative Mina Morita. We met with the Kauai Economic Development Board, the Ni'ihau Shell Makers and some public students in Project East. I was really touched to meet the Ni'ihau shell makers. They were grateful for a bill I introduced that became law, which authenticates Ni'ihau shell products to prevent fraudulent sales. I was so honored to meet them. I really appreciated Rep. Morita for giving me the opportunity to meet with the community in Kauai.
